1. Welding conditions: Generally, connector products will be welded to the circuit board for use. Welding is the core of the entire process, and both pre-welding preparation and post-welding processes revolve around obtaining products that meet welding requirements. The welding conditions are divided into: 1) the welded part must have weld ability; 2) The surface of the welded part should be kept clean; 3) Use appropriate soldering flux; 4) A certain temperature and time.

2. Surface electroplating: The metal part of the connector usually requires surface electroplating treatment, such as tin plating, gold plating, nickel plating, etc. Electroplating is a treatment method that covers cheap metal surfaces with a rust resistant, highly conductive, and expensive metal layer. The specific method is to use the base metal to be electroplated as a cathode in a salt solution containing the prepared metal, and deposit the cations of the prepared metal in the electroplating solution on the surface of the base metal through electrolysis to form a coating.

3. Hardware materials: Chinese people believe that traditional metal materials include five metals: gold, silver, copper, iron, and tin. Through manual processing, it can be made into artworks or metal tools such as knives and swords. Connector raw materials generally refer to plastic, rubber, metal, and so on. The performance of the connector metal material determines the elasticity and conductivity of the connector contact points, which is a key factor in the quality of the connector. Many connectors require frequent insertion and removal, requiring good contact elasticity.

4. Plastic material: A polymer compound formed by addition polymerization or condensation polymerization using monomers as raw materials, with the main component being resin. Connector products often use engineering plastics such as PolyButylene Terephthalate (PBT), PolyVinyl Chloride (PVC), PolyPhenylene Sulfide (PPS), Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP), and Nylon 66. The use of excellent plastic materials ensures that the connector can work normally within the design temperature range for a long time.

5. Pitch: Usually refers to the center distance between two horizontally adjacent plug points (pins) in a connector product, measured in millimetres (mm). It is the most important indicator of industrial connector products.

6. Insulation impedance: refers to the equivalent resistance value obtained by applying DC voltage to the insulation layer of a connector, resulting in leakage current on the surface or inside the insulation layer. If the insulation resistance value is low, it may form a feedback circuit, increase power loss, and cause interference. Excessive leakage current can generate heat or electrolysis, which can damage insulation, cause electrical short circuits, and endanger safety.

7. Insertion force: The force required for the male lead to enter the female socket. Withdrawing force: The force required to remove the male lead from the female socket. The design of a connector with a certain insertion and extraction force is to ensure the reliability and stability of the connector after adaptation. According to EIA-364-13C (International Electrical Association Insertion and Extraction Force Test Standard), the insertion and extraction are maintained under a certain force for a period of time, which is called retention force.
