The soldering process for Kinghelm's pin headers typically involves the following steps:

1.Preparation

Ensure the pin headers and PCB (printed circuit board) are clean, free from oil, contaminants, and oxidation.

Prepare soldering tools and materials: solder wire, soldering iron, flux, etc.


2.Positioning the Pin Headers

Align the pin headers precisely into the designated through-holes on the PCB, ensuring each pin aligns with the corresponding pad.


3.Securing the Headers

Temporarily fix the pin headers using clamps or high-temperature-resistant adhesive tape to prevent movement during soldering.


4.Preheating

Preheat the PCB pads and pin header leads with a soldering iron (recommended temperature: 320–380°C) to improve solder flow and joint quality.


5.Solder Application

Feed solder wire to the preheated soldering iron tip and PCB pad. Once the solder melts, evenly distribute it across the pad and pin to form a robust solder joint.


6.Soldering

Simultaneously touch the soldering iron tip to both the PCB pad and pin header. Allow the solder to fully melt and flow, creating a smooth, concave fillet. Maintain soldering duration between 2–3 seconds to avoid thermal damage to components.


7.Cooling

Allow solder joints to cool naturally. Avoid forced cooling (e.g., compressed air or water) to prevent thermal stress-induced cracks.


8.Cleaning

Remove flux residues and contaminants using an approved cleaning agent (e.g., isopropyl alcohol) to ensure long-term reliability.


9.Inspection

Visually inspect solder joints for smoothness, proper wetting, and absence of cold joints, bridging, or voids. Automated optical inspection (AOI) may supplement manual checks.


10.Testing

Perform electrical continuity tests and in-circuit testing (ICT) to validate connection integrity and functionality.
