2G starts the Internet of vehicles. GPS positioning, rescue and anti-theft are the most powerful needs

1、The start of GSM low-speed data service is the key to the start of Internet of vehicles

In 1994, GSM began large-scale commercial use in Guangdong. At this time, I came to Guangzhou.

In addition to making phone calls, there are also data services (now it seems that the rate is very low). There are two ways. One is short message (and later MMS multimedia message), and the other is GPRS.

In 1999, I participated in the North exhibition to introduce the mobile Internet. At that time, 8 channels were bundled to provide the highest rate of 171kbps. On your mobile phones, if the 4G signal is not good, an e word will appear, that is, edge, which is a 2G enhanced service, up to 384kbps.

CDMA, which belongs to 2G and developed slightly later than GSM, also has short message and 1x data services.

GSM is also used in trains and ships. For example, GPRS is used for motor cars between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and GSM-R system is used as "Wireless Train Dispatching" on green cars and freight trains. GSM base stations can cover up to 120km offshore, and mobile phones can be used on offshore ships. The craziest thing is that the air-to-air transmission of the communication base station can cover the aircraft channel, because the cruise altitude is only 10 km.

2、Satellite navigation GPS was fully completed in 1994

The United States began to develop the global positioning system GPS in the 1970s. It took 20 years. By March 1994, 24 GPS satellite constellations with a global coverage of 98% had been deployed. Each time GPS positioning equipment is used, the signals sent by at least four satellites work together to determine the receiver's speed, time and three-dimensional position. Similar technologies include Russia's GLONASS, Europe's Galileo, China's Beidou, etc. At the beginning of the century, I promoted CDMA base stations with GPS / GLONASS dual satellite positioning system.

China Beidou can also have short message service. Fishing boats in the South China Sea can use cheap Beidou terminal to send short message alarm and add positioning information, which is "ship networking".

Commercial vehicles (buses and trucks) need to be forced to install Beidou satellite networking equipment. The regulatory department conducts driver behavior analysis in the background. If the driver is tired driving (driving for more than 4 hours continuously), he can know it remotely!

There are already a large number of cheap and high-quality Beidou satellite navigation terminal chips, such as Huada Beidou, Beidou Xingtong, Hagrid communication, hezhongsizhuang, Ziguang zhanrui, zhonghaida, Mengxin, Leike, etc.

3、SEG first provided GPS system, which can cut off oil and power remotely

Guangdong is the earliest large-scale commercial area of GSM, and the Internet of vehicles was born. The earliest networking systems are GPS related. Huaqiangbei was the most powerful in the electronic field at that time, and Tencent started there.

Huaqiang North has a skyscraper called SEG building, which shook in May this year. Everyone laughed and said that component distributors hoarded too many chips. Of course, this is a joke. The official has refuted the rumor and said that the reason has been found and removed. When the SEG building was just capped in 1999, it shook. At that time, someone gave a seemingly reasonable explanation that the high-rise building is like a strong grass. When the wind blows, it may shake slightly, but it is not easy to break.

SEG electronics, located in Huaqiang North, is a pioneer in the field of GPS Application in China, using GSM 2G connection technology.

In 1995, SEG electronics established a GPS monitoring and dispatching command system for Xiamen public security bureau, becoming the first in China. The dispatcher can know where many police vehicles are in real time, so that the nearest vehicle can be arranged for police.

Since 1999, "SEG chesheng" brand has provided GPS positioning, anti-theft alarm and other services for car owners. I remember going to Lianhua Mountain on the first day of the lunar new year. At the gate is the advertisement of SEG chesheng.

I saw a case of BMW stolen in the newspaper. Two sets of independent GPS positioning devices were installed in the car. The thief removed one GPS and the other is still working. After seeing the location of the vehicle in the background, call the police, cut off the oil and power remotely, and report the location to the local police in real time. The police uncle intercepted the car thief and caught both people and stolen goods at one go!

Huaqiang Electronics, another state-owned company in Huaqiang North, once had a similar business. Dozens of high-end concierge cars in a factory once used this system. In 2013, I went to the vehicle department to see the management background. The driver behavior analysis is done well. Log in to the background website to see the location, travel data and driving behavior analysis, such as whether it is speeding, fatigue driving, illegal lane change, whether it is beyond the operation scope, etc.

Remote oil cut-off? It sounds amazing. It's not complicated to implement. Its working principle is not to really close the oil circuit, but to connect a logically controlled relay in series into the main power (main power supply), the power supply line of the oil pump or the electronic ignition power circuit of the carburetor. When the vehicle is beyond the operating range or stolen, it can send commands remotely. After receiving the power-off command short message, the control platform with SIM card in the vehicle will start the relay to disconnect the circuit.

The remote fuel cut-off shall be carried out when the vehicle speed is less than 20km / h. If the speed is too fast, the fuel cut-off command will not be executed to ensure safety.

Times have changed. The GPS anti-theft function has been played as a street stall level by the Chinese, and the price is ridiculously low. On the e-commerce platform, you can buy a remote control device of about 200 yuan, GPS / BeiDou double star positioning, and you can control the remote oil and power cut-off through the mobile app! Magic, don't you accept it? The previously unattainable SEG car saint has gradually disappeared from our vision.

4、Taxi GPS alarm, real-time upload of driving track

In the early years, it was normal for taxi drivers to have hundreds of yuan around them, and it was common for taxis to be robbed. Occasionally, drivers are killed and cars are robbed in Shenzhen. Shenzhen taxi cabs are equipped with stainless steel anti-theft nets, and some cars are equipped with anti-theft steel plates, which can not be seen at ordinary times. When the driver presses on his feet, a steel plate can pop up quickly on the side. It feels incredible now, but it was all true at that time.

Once I took a taxi in Shanghai and suddenly found that there was no "encirclement". The driver told me that there was a hidden button on the left. Press it to call the police directly! After the alarm, the location information is sent out through the GSM data channel, and photos can be uploaded.

The LED display screen on the top of the taxi is also linked with the alarm facilities in the car. Once the taxi driver presses the alarm button in case of danger, the words "I've been robbed, please call the police for me" will be displayed on the LED display screen.

There was a tragic case in 2019. The taxi driver pressed the one button alarm button twice. The backstage personnel of the alarm system were worried about false alarm. They called the driver to check. As a result, they were found by the gangsters and killed the driver. It can be seen that the alarm in this place goes to the system background first, and then the background personnel decide whether to start the real alarm. I believe the process will be more perfect in the future.

The dispatcher of the taxi company can see the location of each car (GPS positioning), and the dispatcher can also see whether the taxi carries passengers. The driver gradually has a mobile phone, so the taxi walkie talkie system gradually declines.

Considering that Chinese people are more and more insensitive to anti-theft and alarm, "inkanet" strengthens the entertainment and navigation functions.

At that time, the call center was very popular, 12580 (I'll help you with one click), telephone banking, telephone booking air tickets... There was no need to work hard at the store. You could solve many things directly by calling. I felt that science and technology had made great progress.

Therefore, major car enterprises have provided operator mm to serve car owners. In order to meet the requirements of local tyrants, some luxury cars also invited some local operators mm.

In the 4G era, smart phones have become the center, and the Internet of vehicles has entered a low tide

Since 2013, China has entered the 4G era, with the rapid development of smart phones and mobile Internet.

In August 2013, baidu navigation was completely free. In September 2013, Gaode navigation was fully free. The real-time navigation based on smart phones tells us where there is congestion and automatically plans the best route, which has greatly changed our life. I never dared to drive into downtown Guangzhou before, but now I drive into downtown calmly.

My mother has witnessed that I keep going the wrong way when I read the map. Up to now, smart phone navigation directly reaches the destination. She is extremely impressed by satellite navigation. She sighed: how can humans be so smart?!

This brings a huge conflict of interest! These businesses are only related to mobile phone and Internet app companies, but have nothing to do with car companies. Car companies do not want to share car data with mobile phone companies and Internet companies, nor do they want them to control the on-board information and entertainment system.

1、Smart car experience revolution is a historical opportunity

There is "oppression" and "revolution". After entering the AI Artificial Intelligence era, car companies finally found their own profit and development direction and "liberated" from the heavy pressure of mobile phone / Internet companies.

In 2015, great progress was made in in-depth learning, and the global artificial intelligence industry witnessed explosive development.

The CES exhibition in Las Vegas in January 2016 became a milestone in the development of intelligent vehicles. I had the honor to observe the booths of ICT players such as Qualcomm, NVIDIA and mobile-eye (later Intel). Taking advantage of the wave of artificial intelligence, they have sprung up and entered the automotive field to compete with traditional automotive chip factories such as NXP, Infineon and Renesas. Every technological revolution may bring newcomers, and "subversives" often come from outside the industry.

ZTE has cultivated the Internet of vehicles for a long time. Intelligent networking has become a new development direction of the Internet of vehicles. According to the data released by the Ministry of industry and information technology, in 2020, the sales volume of intelligent networked vehicles in China was 3.032 million, a year-on-year increase of 107%.

When people are closed by cars, they may be isolated from the outside world and become an information island. The core of passenger cars is to provide travel services. After the arrival of the Internet of vehicles, a life service scene with behavior core has been formed, allowing people to reintegrate into the world.

According to Lao Yao (Wang Yanhui), founder of Aiji micro consulting, the smart cabin is an extension of smart phones, and the business model is also similar to mobile phones, which can be continuously charged through software services. Users' understanding of the value of cars has also changed from travel tools to "third space", and the intelligent cockpit has been continuously upgraded along the "localization networking intelligence". Intelligent cockpit has been widely used in traditional fuel vehicles and new electric vehicles.

Auto companies are very happy. They can develop independently and collect money without being strongly controlled by mobile phone companies such as apple and Internet companies such as Google. Apple, Android and other businesses with mobile phones as the core have also encountered resistance from car companies, and there are fewer and fewer opportunities for front loading.

Games are very expensive things. Smart cockpit is now popular with giant screens, which are often more than ten inches. It's great to play games. BYD's dilink car machine system has long become a "game machine". Tesla went further. 2、The development of intelligent cockpit is driven by Qualcomm chips

Artificial intelligence is widely used in human-computer interaction and cockpit perception. Large screen, digital dashboard, face recognition lock, voice and gesture interaction, three-dimensional virtual presentation and AR navigation, head up display, streaming media rearview mirror, one core multi screen and multi screen fusion, multimedia entertainment (audio and video, karaoke, game, etc.), vehicle monitoring, DMS (driver and cockpit monitoring), GPS/ Beidou, OTA......

The function of advanced assistant driving system (ADAS) enters the cockpit area with low cost: autonomous parking, pedestrian and obstacle identification, automatic car following, collision warning, etc. it needs to realize multi-channel video and radar signal processing.

Adas is not really driverless, but it can solve some headache problems at low cost, such as non-stop parking and starting in traffic jam, accidental rear end collision caused by occasional sleepiness, automatic parking, etc.

Xiao Peng, an Internet of vehicles expert, introduced that in order to realize so many functions of the intelligent cockpit, it used to require multiple main chips. In recent years, the smart cockpit SOC (system level chip) scheme can be realized with one or two main chips. Such a scheme not only greatly reduces the design pressure of automotive electronics, but also realizes higher cost performance for vehicle enterprises (OEMs). In other words, this is also a great opportunity for China's automobile industry to become brilliant.

Xian Lei, vice president of sales and business development of Qualcomm China, said that Qualcomm took the lead in entering the automotive SOC from communication and built a good software ecosystem, thus becoming a driving force for the development of chip in China's intelligent cockpit industry.

3、Domestic smart cockpit SOC chips actively catch up

Domestic intelligent cockpit chips have actively followed up and produced two modes.
