How is the vibration rating of a connector evaluated?

2026-06-25 2

The vibration rating refers to a connector’s ability to remain secure, maintain continuity, and avoid failure under vibration conditions. It is mainly evaluated using three parameters:

  1. Frequency range
Typically: 10–2000 Hz, covering common vibration environments in automotive, industrial, and aerospace applications.
  2. Acceleration
    Unit: m/s² or g
    • Consumer applications: a few g to 10 g
    • Automotive / industrial: 10 g to 20 g
    • Aerospace: higher levels
  1. Vibration type
  • Sine vibration (fixed frequency or sweep frequency)
  • Random vibration (closer to real-world operating conditions)
