What factors affect the sealing performance of connectors?
The key factors influencing connector sealing performance include:
1. Sealing structure design
Improper design of waterproof rings, rubber gaskets, interference fits, or locking structures can directly lead to sealing failure.
2. Sealing materials
Rubber or silicone materials with poor heat resistance, weather resistance, or aging resistance may harden, crack, or deform over time.
3. Manufacturing and assembly precision
Dimensional deviations, mold misalignment, or improper crimping/assembly can create gaps that compromise sealing.
4. Installation condition of O-rings and seals
Twisting, misalignment, damage, or missing seals will directly create leakage paths for water and dust.
5. Operating environment and aging
High/low temperatures, vibration, oil exposure, and UV radiation accelerate aging and degradation of sealing components.
6. Mating cycles and external mechanical stress
Repeated plugging/unplugging or cable pulling forces can damage the sealing interface and structural integrity.
