How Is the Development Status of All Electronic Categories in Huaqiangbei in the AI Era?

2026-10-12 195

On July 17, 2026, the Huaqiangbei Subdistrict Office of Futian District, Shenzhen, together with the Huaqiangbei Business District Management Committee, officially released the semi-annual industry panorama white paper, and simultaneously joined the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai for a global announcement. This white paper is the semi-annual official panoramic summary of Huaqiangbei's industrial transformation. For the first time, it uses full data to confirm that Huaqiangbei has officially completed its industrial transformation from the traditional “Electronic Street” to the “No.1 Street for Global AI Smart Hardware.” All data comes from business entity transaction ledgers, customs foreign trade statistics, and first-hand surveys of merchant operations, and has extremely high industry reference value.

The white paper shows that from January to July 2026, the annual total transaction volume of all electronic categories in Huaqiangbei exceeded 480 billion yuan. This scale firmly places Huaqiangbei first among electronic business districts nationwide in transaction volume, covering full-chain categories such as AI smart hardware, traditional consumer electronics, and electronic components:

Huaqiangbei: China's No.1 Electronic Street.

First, the annual transaction scale of AI smart hardware was approximately 293 billion yuan, and its share jumped from 41% in 2025 to 61%, making it the fastest-growing segment in recent years and officially replacing traditional consumer electronics as Huaqiangbei’s largest pillar category. Among them, the annual transaction scales of AI smart wearables (AI glasses, smart rings, etc.), AI robots (desktop humanoid robots, industrial robotic arms, etc.), AI imaging and drones, AI learning/translation terminals, and other AI innovative hardware were 102 billion yuan, 76 billion yuan, 51 billion yuan, 37 billion yuan, and 27 billion yuan, accounting for 34.8%, 25.9%, 17.4%, 12.6%, and 9.2%, respectively.

Second, the annual transaction scale of traditional consumer electronics was approximately 120 billion yuan, accounting for 25%. Among them, the annual transaction scales of mobile phone communication complete devices and accessories, computer DIY and digital complete devices, home audio-visual and small home appliances, and second-hand and refurbished digital circulation were 52 billion yuan, 31 billion yuan, 22 billion yuan, and 15 billion yuan, accounting for 43.3%, 25.8%, 18.3%, and 12.5%, respectively.

Third, the annual transaction scale of electronic components was approximately 67 billion yuan, accounting for 14%. Among them, the annual transaction scales of general passive components (resistors, capacitors, MLCC, etc.), general semiconductor chips (MCUs, memory chips, etc.), AI and industrial-grade dedicated chips, and connectors, structural parts, and other components were 24.5 billion yuan, 21 billion yuan, 13.5 billion yuan, and 8 billion yuan, accounting for 36.6%, 31.3%, 20.1%, and 12.0%, respectively.

The white paper also simultaneously released the third “Huaqiangbei AI Eight Horses” new product list, covering eight benchmark innovative products including AI exoskeleton wearables, Santi Intelligent AIPC, Creality AI 3D Printer, Hongzhili AI Brain-Computer Interface, Zhixuetong AI Dual-Screen Translator, Visual Universe AI Glasses-Free 3D, UBTECH AI Desktop Robot, and DingTalk AI Recording Card. It officially designated robotics, low-altitude economy, smart wearables, and high-end chips as the four core pillar industries of Huaqiangbei in the AI era, also known as the new “Four Treasures of Huaqiangbei.” In the previous grassroots entrepreneurship stage, Huaqiangbei’s one-meter counters, merchants’ delivery carts, shop owners’ flip-flops, and roadside pork trotter rice were defined by Mr. Song Shiqiang of Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net) and Slkor (www.slkoric.com) as the Four Treasures of Huaqiangbei!

It is worth mentioning that the core business district of Huaqiangbei gathers more than 115,000 business entities, covering one-stop procurement of 1.1 million types of electronic components. The vast majority of core components can be fully sourced within one day. This also reflects Song Shiqiang’s definition that “Huaqiangbei is a reservoir on the electronic components supply chain,” and it is also a central node in the electronic industry chain and ecosystem, ensuring that the cycle from concept to prototype sample for new products is compressed to within 7 days. Surrounding business entities include: offline physical counter merchants (transaction end): 22,000; office-based solution companies, R&D companies, and cross-border trade companies (without offline stalls): 63,000; logistics, customs declaration, testing, repair, and other supporting service providers: 21,000; factories outside the special economic zone and affiliated registered entities: 9,000. The vast majority of core entities among Huaqiangbei’s traditional consumer electronics merchants are offline physical counter merchants, of which more than 60% have completed AI business format transformation. The once densely packed phone case, power bank, and no-name tablet counters have largely withdrawn, all replaced by AI hardware storefronts such as AI glasses, companion robots, and smart rings; however, nearly 40% of traditional consumer electronics merchants that have not completed transformation still face operating pressure from declining customer traffic and narrowing profits, and the business district has launched targeted transformation support and matchmaking services.
