Tech Industry Highlights From Kinghelm (Sep 21, 2026–Sep 27, 2026)
1. WSTS Says Global Semiconductor Market Doubled in H1 2026
Date: September 24, 2026
Summary:
WSTS data show that the global semiconductor market reached $702 billion in the first half of 2026, a 102% year-over-year increase. Memory grew 305% and logic grew 45%. Full-year 2026 is now calculated at $1.655 trillion, about 108% annual growth, while the 2027 calculation reaches approximately $2.1 trillion under current assumptions.
Importance:
Confirms that AI infrastructure is generating demand growth far beyond historical semiconductor cycles and is reshaping capacity allocation across memory, advanced packaging and power delivery.
