What is the IP protection rating of a connector?

The IP protection rating refers to a connector’s ability to resist dust and water ingress. It is represented by “IP” followed by two digits.

First digit: Dust protection level (0–6)
The higher the number, the better the dust protection. IP6X means completely dust-tight.

Second digit: Water protection level (0–9)
The higher the number, the stronger the water resistance.
